I’m in my Elizabethan Era.
Her Elizabethan Era is a women’s lifestyle and empowerment blog.
Have you ever wondered what would happen if you just took a leap of faith and just did the thing you told yourself was too scary to do?
Me too sis.
This blog is probably the scariest thing I’ve ever done, but cheers to new journeys and facing our fears!

Your twenties are a transformative period, filled with self-discovery, challenges, and the thrill of independence. As a young black woman transitioning into adulthood, my journey is one that is marked by radical self-love. When I decided to stop letting life happen to me, and intentionally love myself enough to take my 20s by the reigns instead, I started to see major changes to my feelings of happiness. If you want to know how I changed my mindset to live a more fulfilling and satisfying life in my late 20s, then here are four pieces of advice to guide you through this exciting chapter of life.

The new TGIN Miracle Styling Water Activated Curl Elongating Gel is here and I had to write this review. As soon as I saw this product while scrolling through the Ulta app, I texted my husband and asked him to pick it up for me on his way home from the barbershop. Here’s three reasons why I stopped in my tracks to pick up and review this gel ASAP.
The temperature is rising and the natural girlies are getting ready to wear their hair out! But what if I told you that you didn’t have to wait until the summer to give a wash and go, a go? (See what I did there?)
As someone who wears a wash and go year round, I’ve found that my go to combos every season revolve around a combination of three styling products.
My main styler, year round, is Innersense Organic Beauty’s I Create Hold. This product is my tried and true styler that has NEVER let me down. The brand recently released new 32-oz refill pouches for their stylers and the way I ran to purchase as soon as I got the email is low-key embarrassing.
The other two auxiliary products that I use change a bit from season to season, but they mostly revolve around the day’s dew point.
New natural hair products drop so often that it can be hard to keep up with. But when I saw that my favorite clean hair brand recently dropped a new styling product targeted for the curly girls, I had to RUN, not walk to purchase it and try it. I love wearing wash and gos, and I love being able to style my hair with plant-based, botanical gels that load up my hair with nutrients and lots of hold.
If you have natural or curly hair, at some point in your hair journey you probably went on the search for the “holy grail” natural hair product. A “holy grail” is a product that is exceptionally effective and well-loved by individuals with natural hair. This product typically meets or exceeds expectations, addresses specific hair needs, and often becomes a staple in a person's hair care routine. Keep in mind that what works as a holy grail product can vary from person to person, as individual hair types, textures, and preferences play a significant role.
My “Elizabethan Era” is not about me being selfish at this juncture in my life, but about reflecting on what it looks like to live intentionally for myself. Taking action and partaking in activities that make me feel good or that I enjoy. The best part of this mindset shift is that self-love is not a destination, it’s a journey that is ongoing and takes action. Keep reading if you’re curious about a few ways that I am intending to practice radical self-love in this new phase of my life.
